My name is Amy, and I want to help you understand what branding is and why it matters.
I’ve spent my career building brands, managing brands, and thinking about brands. Branding is my livelihood, my hobby, and my passion. As I’ve built my career, I’ve realized that what I am is a business poet – which means finding the magic in a brand and creating inspiration around that magic. There aren’t any job descriptions that I’m aware of for business poets, so I make it up as I go.
What can you expect from me here? I write about branding for people who aren’t experts in branding. People who are curious about it but don’t live and breathe brand strategy every day. People who know branding matters but aren’t sure why or what exactly it even is.
Fair warning: I wander and go where curiosity takes me, but I always try to bring it back to branding in the end. I love branding because it’s alchemy—there are many paths you can go down, many ingredients to consider, and many dots to connect. But in the end, you try to make something magical.
